OVERVIEW

The Civil Engineering Department at NSHM Knowledge Campus Durgapur started its journey in the year 2010. It is a four-year undergraduate program.

The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical learning through laboratories, fieldwork, and project-based training. Students study subjects like Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation, Water Resources, and Environmental Engineering etc.

Moreover, students are also provided proficiency in modern design software like AutoCAD and STAAD Pro, Revit, E Tabs, BIM etc. The programme develops analytical, technical and managerial skills, preparing them for careers in government departments, construction firms, consultancy services, PSUs, and research organizations and also for higher studies and entrepreneurship in the field of smart infrastructure development.

HOD Message

Civil engineering is a professional engineering branch that deals with the planning, design, analysis, construction and management mainly of infrastructure like buildings, roads, bridges, tunnels, canals, dams, etc. The Department of Civil Engineering, NSHM Institute of Engineering & Technology(NIET) was established in the year 2010 with an intake of 60 students for the Undergraduate Program.

The Civil Engineering department aims to develop analytical as well as experimental skills in students to make them market ready and employable. The strengths of our department are state-of-the-art infrastructure, qualified and dedicated team of faculty members and strong industry connection. It’s my proud privilege to share that, the department actively runs the Industry Internship, Core placements, Site Visits and Expert sessions by Industry experts which are the outcome of active MoUs and industry associations.

The Corporate Relation and Talent Transfer(CRTT) Department provides the students with ample number of placement opportunities. The Department has excellent academic research and placement records. I am proud to share that our students win prizes and actively participate at various levels for technical and non-technical competitions.
