Health care industry today requires specialized people who understand the emerging technology and possess the essential skills for maintaining, calibrating and customizing Biomedical equipment that are being used and commissioned day by day. This course will provide students with the knowledge and skills that is essential for performing the duties involving medical instrumentation and critical care technologies. The student will understand the latest developments and basic engineering principles of biomedical devices from their physiological basis to diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Students will be able to monitor equipment, record important data, and same vital data to support the physician. Besides, to provide first-aid to patients, handle a variety of injuries, physical ailments, and to refer and transport patients to external facilities for extended treatment.
To enable students to understand the basic scientific principles on which medical instruments and devices are designed for healthcare applications. The program is intended to provide trained manpower for the healthcare industry and research organizations. Besides, to use information technology for managing and monitoring the performance of equipments and related issues. The students will be able to ethically use their understanding of electronics and instrumentation with biomedical sciences in detection and control of diseases. Furthermore, they will be able to continuously improve the knowledge through life-long clinical exposure and will be able to demonstrate their expertise at their workplaces.
