Asha Jyoti Scholarship is the merit cum means-based scholarship given by NSHM that is assessed solely based on your family’s financial standing and Past Academic Performance. Asha Jyoti is offered to students seeking admission in undergraduate & postgraduate courses.

Asha Jyoti Scholarship was started in the year 2010 and over the last 13 years, more than 3000 students have been awarded scholarship worth over 15 crores.

National scholarship Minority Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured more than 50% marks in the previous final examination and annual income of their parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1.00 lakh.
EWS Scholarship For all (1) All Indian citizens enrolled in the 11th and 12th grades are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
(2) Students must possess a certificate from the state or central board’s 10th standard board examination.
(3) The applicant must obtain at least 50% on the board exam.
(4) The family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6 lakh annually.
(5) The candidate must continue their regular education through the 11th or 12th grade. Students who attend open or private schools are not eligible.

  • The students studying at the college/university level (pursuing diploma level, degree level or postgraduate level courses) can apply for this scholarship.
  • They must have passed the last qualifying examination with at least 40% to 50% marks.
Chief Minister Kanya Utthan Yojana for Graduation, Bihar Government of Bihar For Girls
  • The unmarried girl students of Bihar who have passed their class 12 examination from the Bihar School Examination Board can apply.

MyNSHM Fee Waiver

In addition to being eligible for applying for Academic Scholarship & Financial Aid, the following are eligible for the MyNSHM Fee Waiver:

  • NSHM UG Student applying for a PG Program at NSHM Kolkata or Durgapur
  • Immediate Sibling of a current NSHM Student or Alumni
  • Children of NSHM Professors & all other Team-Members

Education Loan Financial Aid/Bank Loan

Leading Indian banks provide education loans to assist students in achieving their academic goals. A student loan with a payback period of up to 20 years begins with an interest rate of 7.00% per year ( Approx). Education loans for full-time or part-time courses can be used for both in-country and out-of-country higher education.

FAQs

Who can apply?

If, the loan applicant is under 18, then his or her parents must apply for the loan on their behalf. The applicant must have a good academic record. He or she must have received admission to a reputable, university, or institution.

Can I get a 100% education loan?

100% education loans can be provided.
But full coverage may be provided for expenses under a certain limit. ( t & c apply)

Is Education Laon free of Interest?

No, you need to pay interest on the education Loan.

What is the time requirement for processing education loan ?

1 month

Can I pre pay my loan?

Yes pre-pay your loan is available. There are no charges for pre-payment.

Who can be the Co-applicant?

Parents, brother, sister, spouse, parents-in-law and grandparents can be your co-applicant.

What is re-payment procedure?

The repayment of EMI starts 12 months after the completion of the course or 6 months after getting the employment, whichever is earlier for Student and Scholar Loan Schemes.

Academic Scholarship

Merit Based Scholarship available for UG & PG Programs based on their Past Academic Performance.

For UG Applicants:

  • Original Transcripts of Class XII & Class X are mandatory.
  • For Diploma programs only Class X Transcript is mandatory.

For PG Applicants:

  • Original Transcripts from Undergraduate Program is mandatory.

For Lateral Entry:

  • Original Transcripts from Diploma Program is mandatory

To Maintain the NSHM Academic Scholarship, a 7 CGPA or above and minimum 75% attendance in every Semester is required.

Financial Aid

The merit cum means based scholarship given by NSHM is assessed solely on the basis of your family’s financial standing and Past Academic Performance.

For Applicants with Family Income <2.5lacs per year:

  • Family Income Certificate to be obtained from any “A1 Gazetted Officer.”
  • Original Class X,XII or UG Transcripts as applicable.

For Applicant with Family Income between 2.5 to 5 lac per year:

  • Original Class X,XII or UG Transcripts as applicable.
  • Income Tax Returns for the Financial Year 2017-18, 2018-19 & 2019-20 for your parents/earning members of the family.
  • Salary statements for the last 3 months of all parents/earning members.
  • Bank Account Statements for the last 12 months of all Parents/earning members of the family.
  • Details of the family’s Financial Assets (movable and immovable property, investments, etc)
  • For Businesses/Professionals : Income Tax Returns, Bank Statements, Financial Statements (Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet for the last three Financial Years) & Form 26AS
