Building egalitarian society is one of the priorities of modern democratic states, and mass media plays a crucial role in shaping public opinion on understanding and implementation of egalitarianism. This is reached through socio-economic progress, attainment of gender justice and awareness of political and human rights. Amidst increasing censorship, atrocity against women, paid news, social media trolls, design dilemma, and rampant fake news, the Y – Factor International Conference 2019 at NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata, aims to discuss and debate the role of media caught at crossroads.
The two-day Seminar will have four Sessions – Three Technical Sessions on: Media & Women, Media & Design and Media & Human Rights and a Panel Discussion on “Media at crossroads: Censorship, Social Media and Fake News”.
Our Partners Include: Asia Centre- Thailand & Malaysia, South Asian Women in Media (SAWM), Press Club, Kolkata. Our “Professional Partner” – British Deputy High Commission, Kolkata, Public Relations Society of India (Kolkata Chapter) and WACOM.
