IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society as well as Microwave Theory and Technique Society joint chapter Kolkata section supported lecture program was held on 20th September 2014 in the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of NSHM knowledge Campus Durgapur.
The Organizing Chair of the IEEE AP MTT lecture program was Prof. Manimala Pal, senior Faculty Member of ECE Department, NSHM Knowledge Campus Durgapur.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. P.K Bose, Campus Director, NSHM Knowledge Campus Durgapur. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Rowdra Ghatak, Professor, ECE Dept. of NIT Durgapur on “Evolution of Microwave Engineering: Interpretations and Discussions”.
He started his lecture with a brief note on IEEE and its formation in 1963 by merger of IRE as well as AIEE. The event was overwhelmingly supported by over 70 participants consisting students of 5th and 7th Semester ECE as well as Faculty Members. At the end, Prof. Pal emphasized the significance of this lecture topic considering that this year marked the beginning of the celebration of 150th anniversary of the twenty equations that Maxwell put forward in 1864.
