I was quite impressed at the enthusiasm and interest shown by students and the endeavours of the institution to broaden their perspective

Mr. Jawhar Sircar, Former CEO, Prasar Bharati, Author, Columnist & Opinion Leader

We have been recruiting students from NSHM Institute of Media & Design for the past few years for both summer training as well as jobs. We find them to be smart with good subject knowledge and more importantly carrying the right attitude regarding hard work and showing ownership.

Anand Mahesh Talari, Director, Mavcomm Consulting Pvt. Ltd-Delhi & Mumbai

I have had the opportunity to interact with the students and faculty of NSHM in quite a few debates and discussions.

What struck me the most was the enthusiasm that broke across the student-teacher definition.

The institution has a high level of energy that is obvious in the students who have a curious mind with an ability to articulate.

Perhaps the most important attribute of present times would be to think out of the conventional mould and that is abundant in NHSM.

Seldom have we seen faculty and management so engaged in devising ways and means of adding value to the curriculum.

NHSM is a rare gem in today’s educational warehouse of mediocrity. When I spend a few hours in its campus I have only one thought…”I wish I was a student again!”

Dr. Kunal Sarkar, Leading Heart Surgeon, Avid Debater & Opinion Leader

It’s been a pleasure collaborating and associating with the esteemed NSHM Campus. I’ve had the privilege of visiting your campus on various occasions and every time I’ve come there it’s been nothing short of an amazing experience! The students are awesome, very well mannered, have the right attitude and education and are full of energy. Here’s wishing them all the best.

Asia Centre is pleased to partner with NSHM Knowledge Campus over a range of academic activities such as conferences, lectures and seminars. We hope that these activities will help foster people-to-people relationship between India and Southeast Asia and facilitate knowledge exchange.

Dr. James Gomez, Director, Asia Centre (Malaysia and Thailand)

NSHM is what a contemporary campus should be about: Engaging and youth-centered.

It can be a pivot in driving not just tertiary education in India but also in the region, by strategic up-scaling.

It has broken the mould and created a space that is meant for the youth, with activities that engage them beyond the realm of academic work.

Wishing NSHM every success.

Dilrukshi Handunnetti, Executive Director, Center for Investigative Reporting, Sri Lanka & Attorney-at-Law

I like the environment of the NSHM Campus and also the friendly teacher-student relationship dynamic. I immensely enjoyed my sessions at 91.2 Y FM, NSHM Community Radio.

The British Deputy High Commission Kolkata partnered NSHM and the South Asian Women in Media (SAWM) in hosting a conference to mark the International Women’s Day on 8 March, 2019. The range of topics discussed was outstanding and the speakers were all leaders from their respective fields in media and design. The students and faculty of NSHM displayed exemplary focus and professionalism in delivering the conference. The British Deputy High Commission Kolkata looks forward to partnering more such initiatives with NSHM Kolkata.

Ajitha Menon, Political Economy Adviser, British Deputy High Commission, Kolkata

NSHM combines the correct attitude required for media education with the practicality of knowledge. With the continuously evolving media landscape, we need talent with fresh perspectives, connected, savvy and adaptive mindsets. We have hired from NSHM and found some of our better assets from the institute. It’s really great to be a part of their journey.

Mr. Sujoy Roy, Creative Director, O&M

Right from the time I started searching colleges across Kolkata, during my high school studies, NIMC was among those I was targeting.

The key points about NIMC that caught my attention were its reputation, position among the top Media schools of the country and past experiences of some of my acquaintances who are its ex-students. It may not have been the first Institute I was wishing to attend, but after my journey with this College, I am proud to be a member of its alumnus.

The Faculty took special care in nurturing each one of the students and helped in the holistic development according to each other’s areas of interest and strength. There was a perfect balance between Textbook and Hands-On training, which acted as a perfect stepping stone for me and my compatriots in the world of Media.

Agnihotra Roy, Business Group Head – Media Planning, Lintas Media, Bangalore

I always had a clear direction and plan- that I wanted to be a visual storyteller. In these years, I have delved into various genres- as wide as documentaries for Discovery channel to creating corporate films to executing and spearheading reality for India’s best reality shows like Bigg boss and Fear Factor. Now, I am at a position of a Creative Director for various non-fiction platforms as a freelancer in Mumbai.. It’s been 8 years… but one thing that I have always remembered and cherished is the learning that I received in the theoretical and practical teachings of my college. It’s the interest and belief of my professors that actually made me believe that I can achieve all this and much more!

Sreenjoy Dey, Creative Director, Dance Deewane

NSHM has been a great platform over decades for media aspirants across Eastern India.

I was one of the first few batches of the institute and the best part of my graduation days involved multiple practical and creative assignments. The teachers and management were always very helpful and supportive.

After completing my Bachelors in Media Science in 2010, I started freelancing as an Editor for reality shows. Over the years, I have worked on multiple projects in various capacities like Associate Creative Director, Senior Post Production Supervisor and Post Production Head, to name a few.

In 2016, I joined India’s leading OTT content platform Hotstar as a Senior Producer. Over the past few years, my job role was to majorly conceptualize and create surround properties for the entertainment cluster at Hotstar. I was also the Post Production Supervisor for all inhouse content (Entertainment). In December 2018, I shifted to the Creative Communication team in Hotstar as an Asst Creative Partner, majorly working on the top creative campaigns and promos for the brand.

In June 2019, I shall be starting the new chapter in my career with the global giant – Netflix, as a Post Production Coordinator, Branded Acquisitions, Asia Pacific.

In this role, I shall supervise the post production of acquired content in India and shall be reporting to their Singapore office.

I am proud to call myself an alumni of NIMD and wish all the present students the very best for the future.

Samya Bhattacharya, Senior Producer, Hotstar
