NSHM Centre of Creative & Performing Arts organized an exciting & engaging webinar on The Motif Trail.
Hindu and Buddhist sculptures of ancient times bear testimony to India’s rich textile traditions. India is known for its numerous trade links with the outside world and its exotic textiles. The establishment of trade routes to and from the Indian subcontinent brought many non-indigenous motifs integrated with the traditional Indian motifs.
Eastern Indian Textiles, namely Sarees in West Bengal and traditional Garb of the Northeast states, are unique in their weave, motif and design.
Students gained an in-depth understanding of the motive, history, influence of motifs in our culture on 14th July.
