Outreach– NSHM Centre for Social Action is committed to fostering social responsibility, community engagement, and sustainable development through meaningful student participation and institutional initiatives.

Serving as a bridge between the campus and the community, the Centre focuses on empowering underprivileged groups, strengthening rural development, and promoting social awareness through a range of impactful programmes.
The Centre’s activities span educational support, health and hygiene awareness, distribution drives, capacity-building workshops, environmental campaigns, and community welfare projects. Students and faculty collaborate to understand ground-level challenges and design interventions that create long-term positive change.
A key component of the Centre’s work is its participation in Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA)—a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Under UBA, NSHM has adopted multiple villages to drive holistic rural development. Through socio-economic surveys, need assessments, and community interactions, the Centre identifies challenges in these villages and delivers targeted solutions in areas such as livelihood enhancement, digital literacy, health awareness, sanitation, and disaster relief.

The Centre also partners with government schemes, local bodies, NGOs, and educational institutions to amplify its outreach. From disaster-response initiatives during Covid-19 and Cyclone Amphan to ongoing educational and welfare programmes, the NSHM Outreach Centre instills compassion, leadership, and social accountability in students while improving lives at the grassroots level.
Collaborations

Collaboration lies at the heart of every outreach effort at NSHM. Through meaningful partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, community organizations, and educational institutions, the NSHM Outreach Centre works to amplify impact and extend its reach to those who need it the most.
These collaborations create a powerful ecosystem where knowledge, compassion, and resources come together to drive sustainable community development.
A significant highlight of our collaborative work is our association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, a national initiative led by the Ministry of Education. Through this partnership, NSHM actively engages in rural transformation projects, socio-economic surveys, sanitation awareness, livelihood enhancement programmes, digital literacy initiatives, and health campaigns.
These efforts help identify local needs and develop targeted solutions that uplift entire communities. Through these collaborations, NSHM aims to build a culture of shared responsibility—where institutions, communities, and young change makers work hand-in-hand to create meaningful, lasting impact.
