Apart from the biggest celebrities and film-stars in their list of dedicated followers, what unites them is Food. Not just any food, but the right kind. Becoming a dietician isn’t like a conventional career in healthcare. Gone are the days when this was only a clinical post. Today their workplaces range from hospitals to a gyms. Administrative dieticians plan meals and diets, work on menus and recipes in the food service industry in consultation with the chefs or manufacturers. As opposed to that of a consulting dietician, whose job is on more of an individual level, administrative dieticians work on large scale planning.
  • Research Dietician: Research dieticians work in universities to conduct academic research in various fields of nutrition, diet, food production etc. They work on finding new ways to provide nutrition under various circumstances, produce cost-effective and nutritional food and organize things the field of dietetics. Research dieticians are crucial to the field of nutritional research.
  • Sports Dietician: Sports dieticians work for individual sports teams, or for sports clubs or gyms. They advise athletes on the best course of nutrition for their needs considering their individual physique and the sports they play. They field of sports dietician takes lifestyle more into account than a consulting dietician in any other field and is a great field for sports or fitness enthusiasts.

So, seeing as studying dietetics and nutrition course can lead to so many varying career avenues, there’s no reason why an aspiring healthcare enthusiast shouldn’t consider going into the field.
