Prof. Tetsuya Konishi, from Department of Functional and Analytical Food Sciences, Niigata University of Pharmacy & Applied Life Sciences, Japan was the guest speaker at the seminar on 20th March in NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata. The topic of his address was – “Is there any difference in the mode of action between drug and food factors?”
In his speech he highlighted the food function modulating DNA damage response and aging, especially cell cycle checkpoint kinases and their application in Complementary medicine in Cancer treatment. The students of M.Pharm and B. Pharm (3rd year and 4th year) attended the seminar and gained knowledge in various aspects of modern approach in cancer treatment based on the food factor.
