Course Perspective

A basic interest in the science, management and arts of health care delivery systems and services can fetch best value from the BHM course. BHM at NSHM serves two important purposes. One, it enables ready employability in Hospitals and Health services and two, it provides a stepping stone for Masters program in Hospital Administration or Management. With the continuing growth of health care industry the demand has been out sizing the supply. The placement packages are moderate at joining time but later it matches with the best of industry pay packages. A multi-specialty or super-specialty private hospital functions more like a corporate. A corporate, with drivers like – customer relationship management, front-office management, inventory management, records management and document control, marketing and sales, insurance, IT, environment and safety, quality and the like. BHM students of NSHM undergo close to 200 hours of external training and expert assistance to acquaint themselves on those drivers. Simply put, BHM at NSHM is more integrated with industry.

Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (AIESEC) - AIESEC is an international, non-profit, non-political organization established in year 1948, run by students and recent graduates. NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata along with PwC, Kolkata, were the learning partners for the 24 visiting AIESEC students from 12 countries during the later part of year 2008, where they were exposed to modern enterprise management techniques by a select battery of NSHM faculty.

Camp America - Camp America is part of the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS), one of the oldest, largest and most prestigious cultural exchange organizations of the world. Their programmes include college education abroad, at par placements, camp counselors and staff, gifted education, high school study/travel and insurance services. Our students who made it to Camp America, experienced excellent corporate exposure through their internships in the USA and got a feel of the American life in their 9-12 weeks there.

Message From the Principal

“I happen to be the person in-charge of NSHM College of Management & Technology (NCMT). A decade back the journey of NCMT began under my supervision. It is the largest among all NSHM institutions with more than 1600 students and 60 odd teachers. Earlier, I was involved as a scientist in CSIR, Min. of S&T, GoI from 1991 till 1998, where I was involved with the research and development of informatics. I had also served in steel industry and thereafter had a foray as a development worker prior to my joining NSHM in the year 2002. I am also involved in authoring and conducting effective educational programs for schools, higher-educational institutions and for professionals using the thinking and creativity skills of Dr Edward de Bono -- the inventor of lateral thinking. I was accorded the title of Master Educator by de Bono. Our team NCMT is a great team that I always cherish. They are a set of brilliant people with laurels and distinctions which are far more superior to mine, to say the least. Our goal is to make NCMT the numero uno institution in effective teaching in Asia” - Krishnendu Sarkar

Life at NSHM

International Study Option @ MMU, Malaysia

NCMT has a strong global interface in form of student exchanges. In view of the emerging opportunities in Asia, NCMT has initiated a ‘Look Asia’ mission to facilitate its interested students to acquire global exposure on ‘knowhow’ of Industry’s interests. The destination next for NCMT students will be Malaysia Multimedia University, Malaysia. The International Study program will be Faculty Guided and will comprise 20-30 students per batch. The first batch shall commence its visit in January 2013. The study modules include – Overview on ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) business horizons. Business Intelligence, Product LifeCycle Management, Industry Visits, etc. The total duration shall be of 6 days. Students are expected to have their passports. The all inclusive fees ( Airfare, visa, program costs, lodging & boarding, four meals a day, local travel) per student will be Rs 96,500 for this one-of-its-kind certfied international study program.
