Masters in Hotel Management & Catering Technology

Course Perspective

India’s hotel industry can be compared with the best hotels in the world. There will always be a growing need of trained manpower in the hospitality sector having the right knowledge and skill sets, so as to be professionally competent to meet global standard of hospitality.

However, the hospitality based educational programmes especially in the field of Hotel Management offered by various Institutes still focus on Diplomas and Degree only. It has been observed that there has been a sharp tendency amongst the students of Hotel Management to opt for a Post Graduate Diploma or a Masters Degree in Management with approximately 30 to 40% students joining Post Graduate Courses within 1 to 2 years of graduation.

So far there was no such specialized opportunity available for Hotel Management Graduates to pursue higher studies leading to Master’s Degree in Hotel Management & Catering Technology. MHMCT program is a well-suited for all hotel management professionals who wish to upgrade their qualifications in order to gain a competitive advantage in their careers and is a good stepping stone for those hotel graduates who would like to take up university or college teaching as a profession, since few years from now MHMCT will be the minimum criteria to get an entry in AICTE approved colleges for teachers. The biggest advantage of this programme is that it is approved by AICTE and affiliated to WBUT. The programme is being offered in two areas-Food and Beverage Management plus Tourism and Hospitality Administration, covering all major areas of hotel operation.
