About NKS: NSHM Knowledge School
Welcome
In a world where knowledge is power and human capital supreme, technically India should be among the top ten nations in the world. We have one of the largest pools of skilled manpower and we are populous. But as the blue revolution sweeps the globe, the gap between India and the developed world is widening rather than narrowing. The key lies in delivering our higher education system in the context of the lasting and the larger boom that the Industry promises. So enter the NKS, in Kolkata.
Profile:
The growth potential of our various industry
sectors – pharmaceuticals, textiles, oil and gas, manufacturing, health
care, education, computers, communications, insurance, banking, transport,
infrastructure, Power, etc. is now immense. Huge investments are in the
offing. Global corporations are moving businesses more specifically to
India. This will be creating huge jobs also for graduates, provided they are
prepared suitably for the same. Be assured NKS will prepare its graduates
and later its post-graduates suitably.
NKS acknowledges the fact that quality of technical and management education
is becoming critical in today's world. The last two decades have been
influenced by globalization, and the effect of globalization is reflected in
liberalization of trade and capital markets. There is a need for
considerable amount of knowledge sharing between multiple businesses, and
those involved in businesses/enterprises. NKS, therefore as an integral part
of NSHM Knowledge Campus, shall have pedagogy that weigh more towards
creating and sharing domain knowledge wealth by way of rich academic
partnerships, like the one it has with DMS, IIT-Delhi.
In a nut shell, NKS shall exist to be different to bring a marked difference
in the design and delivery of education, training and learning. Every
student here shall have -- access to and control over Knowledge tools,
Additional Knowledge Partner(s), apart from their University, in their
learning and development, R&D Incubation support, Knowledge Tours, Industry
exposure, Bandwidth , e-Learning and Conferencing, et.al. Leveraging on
these aids students shall be in participatory learning frame all along with
their mentors and teachers, rather than only chalk and talk.
NKS, for a change would like to stand for 0% under-employment. Doesn’t this
say all about a better B-School in the making…where student aspirations meet
employer/or entrepreneurial needs to the fullest.
