| NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata wins NEN Entrepreneurship Week – India 2008 |
Along with growing awareness about the importance of education to succeed in the knowledge economy, the cost of quality education too is growing fast.
In recent years, a large number of students, especially those pursuing professional courses in India or abroad, are availing of education loans.
According to latest data from the Reserve Bank of India, education loans disbursed by Indian banks rose 51% to Rs 15,000 crore for the financial year ending March 2007 from Rs 9,962 crore at the end of March 2006. |

NSHM – Knowledge Campus, Kolkata in association with NEN celebrated E-Week ’08 at NSHM - Knowledge Campus from 2nd to 8th February ‘08. The theme for the week was ECOPRENEUR. The week focused on Bizbazar, case studies, 50 INC/- and many monitoring sessions by eminent personalities like, Mr. P.K. Chakraborty (Head of finance), Tata Motors, Mr. Chiranmoy Chaterjee (Regional Head, Perfetti Van Malle India Ltd), Mr. V. Malhotra (CEO, Bandbox), Prof. Anjan Roy Choudhary (E-Cell Head, IIM Kolkata) and Mr. Shoummo Acharya (TIE President, Kolkata).
There was a panel discussion on “Does a conducive entrepreneurial ecosystem for women exists in India or not”, with panel listing of Ms. Sunita Singh (DIRECTOR - NEN), Ms. Rakhi Purnima Dasgupta (KEWPIES), Ms. Alaknanda Rao, (CEO- Alvary System) and Ms Saujanya Pudi, (NCLD Head, NSHM knowledge Campus, Kolkata) as moderator. The panel was a huge success with a gathering of over 300 students from various colleges.
After putting in so much effort and show-casing such a fabulous event, NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata, was selected as one of the Seven National Champion amongst the 270 NEN Member Institutes.
The money generated during this E-Week was donated for Nobel Causes. |
