Manonmaniam Sundaranar University was established in 1990, as per the Act 31 of 1990 by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu as a teaching-cum-affiliating University. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
About 80,000 students are studying in the various University Departments and the 80 affiliated collages including 2 constituent colleges. MSU is one of the pioneer institutions that offers Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS).
The courses and research programmes offered by the University have been carefully chosen after considering the contemporary times and needs of the country. The University offers M.Phil and PhD Programs in addition to regular PG Programmes. |
