| NSHMites celebrate World Health Day |
|
Department of Hospital Management of NSHM Knowledge Campus, Durgapur, organized a Two-Day programme on 7th and 8th April 2011 in association with the Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata to celebrate WORLD HEALTH DAY – 7th April.
On 7th April 2011, the program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr D K Saraswat, Chief-Medical Services, Eastern Coalfields, Coal India Limited in the presence of an august gathering comprising of Dr Amit Kr. Aditya, Campus Director; Dr. B K Das, CMO, Kalla Hospital of ECL; Dr. Bijay Bhujabal, Principal, NSHM Business School; Dr. Niloy Sarkar, HOD, Hospital Management and other distinguished guests, faculty members and students.
An Inter College Quiz Competition followed by an enthralling cultural program was oragnised by the students of Department of Hospital Management, NSHM College of Management and Technology to mark the occasion.
In the evening, 65 students of the college voluntarily donated blood at the Blood Donation Camp organized by The Sub-divisional Hospital and The Mission Hospital, Durgapur.
On 8th April, a Free Health Check-up camp attended by 259 patients, predominantly from the underprivileged section of the society, was held by Cardiologist Dr. Swapan Kumar Dey and eminent physicians, Dr Abhijit Pal and Dr. Rohit Kumar of Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata. Free medicines and garments were distributed to the underprivileged.
Mr. Somnath Bhattacharya, GM-Business Development of Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata delivered a speech to enlighten the audience on the "Billion Hearts Beating" campaign of Apollo Hospitals to reach out to the masses suffering from cardiac diseases in India.
Dr. Niloy Sarkar concluded the immensely successful programme by delivering the Vote of Thanks to all.
