INSPIRING NOTES – Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, a musician par excellence and a great composer is a living legend and a personification of the Indian ethos and values who believes that music can transport you to the realm of meditation where one can attain inner bliss. According to him “Music is not for entertainment. It was my life-long dream to play such kind of music, which will make the listeners, forget to clap; which will make them silent.”
That is precisely what he achieved through his inspirational recitation of his magic wand santoor, which held the audience spellbound for two hours. |

| Jhuma Basak : Post Graduate from the Department of Comparative Literature, Jadavpur University, Ms. Basak started her career as a dancer at an early age, travelling across the world, as cultural delegate of the Indian Government (ICCR tours). Two time awardee of the India Foundation of the Arts, Bangalore, she is also a member of the Indian Psychoanalytical Association, London. She was elected to teach Psychoanalysis at Kyushu University, Japan in 2004. She is the artistic Director of “Nuances,” an organisation on performing arts and cultural studies. |
