“Amor Ekushey” the event of the Cultural Club of NSHM School of Engineering and Technology (NSET) has been celebrated by B.Tech and Diploma in a vibrant way to remember the International Mother Language Day. The event was Facebook live and within few moments it got views in hundreds. The programme started with a soulful Saraswati Vandana by Prof Vidyasagar Bhattacharjee, Principal of Diploma Engineering, NSET. In a welcome Note by Prof (Dr.) Amal Chakrabarti, HOD-Basic Science & Head of Club activities, NSET, the essence of mother language and to protect it in every possible way has been highlighted. Dance of various Bengali songs have been performed by the students. Poems of Bengali and Hindi were recited. Also recitation was on for self-written poem by the student, where Hindi language was treated as the soul of India. One solo dance of a poem has been performed which depicts the power of ‘Fire’ resembling the characters of great Bengal personalities like Raja Rammohan Roy, Iswar chandra Vidyasagar, Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore etc. Students have also glorified the Bengali Language for new generation by dramatizing. One Hariyanvi song has been performed along with Clapbox instrument. Solo dances in Nepali, Assamese and Kashmiri have been beautifully performed by engineering students. A group of students beautifully executed Rajasthani folk dance. One mime drama has been beautifully portrayed a mother, who with every possible struggles protected her girl child from family and society and ultimately helped her to become doctor, thus showcased the mother language to protect like a child. The entire Hall gave them a standing ovation for their content, acting and the message. In vote of Thanks, Prof. (Dr.) Sudipto Sarkar, Dean-NSHM School of Engineering and Technology congratulated each members, participants, volunteers and all audiences for choosing such a meaningful theme. He has also promised to come up with a lot of programmes like this from School of Engineering very soon. Full audiences have cheered to show their passion and full support for the cultural events.

Mother Languages are the most powerful instruments of preserving and developing our heritage and cultural traditions.
NSET CULTURAL CLUB is organising a cultural event on the occasion of International Mother Language Day “Amor Ekushey” on 28th February 2019 at the seminar hall of NSHM Knowledge Campus Durgapur.
The program will commemorate the sacrifices which the Bangla community made to preserve the linguistic heritage of their country/land.
